A popular charity hockey game in Peace River is coming back for another year.
The Battle of the Badges will take place at the Baytex Energy Centre on March 21, organizer Simon Lavoie says this year’s game will be supporting a few different causes.
“We have Northern Trek as one of the recipients. Northern Trek is Julian Bergeron raising money for the fallen firefighters every year so we’re going to help him out with that. The other two are the Sugar Plum Daycare and Peace Playland.”
In addition, the 50/50 sales during the game will also benefit the Peace River Ag Society.
Lavoie says this game has received a lot of strong support from the community.
“Attendance has been really good. All of the sponsors are really excited to help out and be a part of this. We use this as a guide to say alright, I guess we’re good to go for another year.”
