
West Fraser Timber. Ltd. has announced plans to indefinitely curtail operations at its oriented strand board (OSB) mill in High Level, Alberta, by spring 2026, following the consumption of existing log supplies.
This decision, driven by a significant weakening in OSB demand, will affect approximately 190 employees.
The company intends to offer these workers opportunities at other facilities where possible.
Additionally, West Fraser will continue the indefinite idling of a production line at its Cordele, Georgia, OSB facility, inactive since late 2023.
