
The Peace Country showed its generosity during Tim Hortons’ annual Holiday Smile Cookie campaign, which ran from November 17 to 23. Tim Hortons restaurants across the region took part, with each location supporting a local charity while also contributing to Tim Horton’s Foundation Camps.
In Peace River, cookie lovers helped raise $7,830, supporting the new playground project at École Des Quatre-Vents.
In Valleyview, the Interfaith Community Food Bank received $4,408.
The Fairview store raised $5,928 to benefit the community Food Bank.
Meanwhile, High Prairie topped the area totals, generating $9,742 for the High Prairie & District Food Bank.
50% of Holiday Smile Cookie proceeds benefit the community causes, and 50% supports Tim Horton’s Foundation Camps.
This year was especially notable, as Tim Hortons announced a record-breaking $13 million raised nationwide, marking the most successful Holiday Smile Cookie campaign to date.
