The Woodland Cree First Nation has released the preliminary results of its 2025 Chief and Council election, held on November 17 with polling stations in Cadotte Lake and Edmonton. A total of 534 ballots were cast—438 in Cadotte Lake and 96 in Edmonton.
Isaac Laboucan-Avirom secured the position of Chief with a combined total of 276 votes, defeating Derek Auger, who received 246 votes.
Twenty-three candidates competed for five council seats. According to the preliminary count, the following candidates have been elected to Council:
- Blaine Auger – 224 votes
- Lawrence Lamouche Jr. – 190 votes
- Elvis Thomas – 168 votes
- John Cardinal Jr. – 166 votes
- George Merrier Sr. – 149 votes
