Peavey Mart, a staple in Canadian retail since 1967, is set to relaunch in select prairie locations this fall. Backed by a group of well-capitalized investors, the brand will reopen stores in Spruce Grove, Westlock, Camrose, and Lacombe, Alberta.
The new ownership group, 2707162 Alberta Ltd, acquired the Peavey Mart name and associated intellectual property from the defunct Peavey Industries LP in April 2025. They plan to open 7 to 12 locations, focusing on high-quality, unique, and locally sourced products that highlight the Canadian entrepreneurial spirit.
Doug Anderson, representing the investors, stated, “We know that the closure of Peavey Mart stores left a gap for many customers. Our investors and ownership group recognize the importance of Peavey Mart in the Canadian retail landscape, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to relaunch the brand in these communities.”
The relaunch aims to serve farmers, ranchers, acreage owners, homeowners, and homesteaders, emphasizing value and community needs.
This revival marks a significant step in restoring a beloved brand to its roots, catering to the unique needs of prairie communities.
However, there is no word yet, as to whether the stores in High Prairie will reopen, and when.
