On September 18, 2025, during proactive patrols near Dixonville, Alberta, the RCMP’s Western Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit and Peace Regional RCMP identified a vehicle with mismatched plates.

Upon investigation, they discovered it had been reported stolen from Mackenzie County on August 7, 2025.

A search of the vehicle led to the seizure of approximately 487 grams of suspected amphetamine in crystal form, 17.2 grams of suspected amphetamine resembling small pink, purple, and blue beads, and 23.6 grams of suspected amphetamine concealed within shotgun shells.

Additionally, officers found a firearm, various ammunition, drug paraphernalia, bottles of suspected Gamma-Hydroxybutyrate (GHB), an array of tools, jewelry including rings and watches, and evidence of copper wire stripping.

Peace Regional RCMP have released images of the seized substances to raise public awareness, emphasizing that some amphetamines were designed to look like craft beads, posing a risk to children.

They urge community members to remain vigilant and to avoid handling any suspicious items, advising immediate contact with local authorities.

The investigation is ongoing as RCMP await lab results to determine potential charges.

They are seeking public assistance in identifying individuals associated with the vehicle and any information regarding the drugs or firearm found inside.

Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact the Peace Regional RCMP.
