- Peace Regional Police continue with their investigation into an targeted incident at Riverfront Park, early this morning.
At this time, police tape is still present at the scene, so residents are being asked to stay away. - High Prairie police successfully stopped a vehicle doing 207 km/h in a 100 zone on Hwy 2, east of town on Saturday.
The driver, a 23 year-old man from Fairview was issued two court summons for driving carelessly and speeding. - A man has been given jail time, but faces further accusations.
Christopher Valin has been given three months after pleading guilty to flight from police charges from an incident in March of 2024.
Valin is facing murder charges after a man was found dead in the Fairview area last May. - The Canadian Mental Health Association has set up shop in Peace River, for programs to be available. (Brent Taylor interview in separate story)
- COVID-19 vaccine shots are now available to Albertans for pre-order ahead of the fall rollout.
An appointment to get vaccinated is still necessary, and it’ll cost more than $100 for most. - The NWJHL is preparing for the 2026 season, as teams begin looking forward to Training Camps.

Showers are hitting the Northwest tomorrow, plus quite cooler temperatures hit the region, with them being in the mid teens.
Skies clear out for Thursday and into the weekend, but digits stay in the teens.
