- Mackenzie County has updated the Stage 2 Water Rationing Advisory in La Crete. The Stage 2 recommendation is remaining in effect for the balance of the summer.
- Falher Mayor Donna Buchinski has been appointed as the Chair of the Regional Health Advisory Council in Northwestern Alberta.
- The Mackenzie County Ag. Fair and Trade show takes place tomorrow and Saturday at the Mackenzie Applied Research Association Experimental Farm, just outside of Fort Vermilion. (Thomas Simpson interview in separate story)
- The Provincial Government is earmarking up to nearly $13 million dollars to support three new energy projects to strengthening the electricty grid.

The Jays are riding high, after they scored 45 runs on 63 hits in three games in Denver, earlier this week. - In Tennis, 18 year-old Victoria Mboko of Toronto has advanced to the Final of the National Bank Open Tournament in Montreal.
Mboko has become the first Canuck to defeat three former Grand Slam champions in a single tournament.

Skies will begin to clear off overnight tonight, except in the Big Lakes where the rain continues. Lows are in the low teens.
