On June 21, 2025, at 12:24 p.m., Vermilion RCMP responded to a plane crash approximately 12 kilometers north of the local airport.
The aircraft, carrying a 46-year-old female pilot from Slave Lake, Alberta, and a 76-year-old male passenger from Mannville, Alberta, crashed short of the runway.
Tragically, both occupants did not survive.
The Transportation Safety Board is investigating the incident.
RCMP extend their condolences to the families and friends of the deceased.
