The Conseil scolaire du Nord-Ouest (CSNO) has appointed Mr. Denis Fontaine as Director General, effective August 1, 2025.
With 33 years in Alberta’s education sector, Mr. Fontaine has experience from kindergarten to post-secondary levels.
He holds a Bachelor of Education from Campus Saint-Jean and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from the University of Alberta.
His career includes teaching in the Edmonton Catholic School Division and leadership roles at the University of Alberta’s Campus Saint-Jean, such as Associate Dean.
CSNO President Anita Anctil expressed confidence in Mr. Fontaine’s ability to advance the board’s priorities, emphasizing his professionalism and commitment to the Francophonie.
Mr. Fontaine succeeds Ms. Brigitte Kropielnicki, who is retiring after a distinguished 33-year career in Francophone education in Alberta.
