High Level RCMP arrest two, looking for four more

On May 8, 2025, at approximately 3:30 a.m., High Level RCMP responded to a shooting on Highway 58, where a male driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigations revealed the shooting was a targeted attack on the wrong vehicle.

Two suspects were arrested in Fort Vermilion, Alberta, and search warrants executed at two residences led to the seizure of nine rifles and ammunition.

The weapon used in the shooting was not recovered.

Six individuals face multiple charges, including reckless discharge of a firearm and aggravated assault.

Ryan Auger (38), a resident of South Tallcree, Alta., and Cryingwind Didzena (27), a resident of Fort Vermilion, were arrested. Elmer Didzena (29), a resident of Fort Vermilion, Christopher Schellenberg (41), a resident of Bushe River, Alta., Annabelle Laboucan (25), a resident of Fox Lake, Alta., and Megan Bulldog (21), a resident of John D’or Prairie, are still at large but all six have been charged.
