Police search for a suspect in a stolen vehicle case

Peace Regional RCMP seek public assistance in identifying suspect in stolen vehicle

Peace River, Alta. – On May. 3, 2025, Peace Regional RCMP were conducting proactive patrols, when they saw a vehicle that was in the ditch from a distance; as the RCMP member got closer to the vehicle, an individual was seen running away.

RCMP contacted the registered owner of the vehicle, who had not yet realized their vehicle had been stolen.  Despite attempts from Police Dog Services and Remotely Piloted Aircraft Services (RPAS), the individual was not located.

The vehicle had been stolen from the area of 88 Street in Peace River, sometime between April 30, 2025 and May 3, 2025, prior to approximately 11:00 P.M when it was located by RCMP.

Peace Regional RCMP requests community members in the are of 88 Street, to check their surveillance in hopes of identifying the individual(s) who took the vehicle.

The vehicle is described as a 2004 dark blue, Jeep which had a black hard top; the black hardtop is still missing.

This investigation is still ongoing and RCMP would like to extend gratitude to community members for their assistance thus far.
