  1. 33 year-old Justin Jesse Christian has been located deceased.
    Christian was reported missing on Friday, and surveillance footage sightings happened during his last known whereabouts last Wednesday.
  2. Artificial Intelligence companies are looking for places to build their data centres and the provincial government is looking to bring them here.
    These centres require a lot of electricity usage and Technology and Innovation Minister Nate Glubish, says their sales pitch involves Alberta’s energy resources. (Interview on App story)
  3. The MD of Greenview has entered into an agreement with O’Leary Ventures to build an off-grid natural gas and geothermal power infrastructure to support the largest AI data centre industrial park, just outside of Grande Prairie.
    The Greenview Industrial Gateway will roll the project named Wonder Valley, in multiple phases, spread over thousands of acres of land in the area.

  5. The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has reportedly dropped its wage demand to 19 per cent over four years
    The union initially called for a cumulative wage hike of 24 per cent over four years. CUPW also dropped the demand to merge the urban and rural bargaining units.
  6. Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre’s latest attempt to topple the minority Liberal government in a non-confidence vote failed on Monday, thanks to the New Democrats.
    The Conservatives’ motion quoted NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh’s criticism of the Liberals over labour issues, and called on the House to agree with Singh and vote non-confidence in the government.
  7. Five Canadian teams hit the ice in the NHL tonight.
    Tampa Bay is in Edmonton, Calgary is in Nashville, St. Louis is in Vancouver, Boston is in Winnipeg, and Toronto is in New Jersey.
  8. The NHL had a trade yesterday, as San Jose traded goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood to Colorado for Alexandar Georgiev. Draft picks were also scattered in the deal.
  9. Snow is forecasted for Northwestern Alberta, but not enough to be buried. 2-4 cm is expected in the Big Lakes, while 5-10 cm is expected in the Peace and Mackenzie, today and tonight.
    Highs this afternoon are between -5 and -15, with lows tonight are in the negative teens.
