Anyone using the river, please take note:
Due to the filling of Site C, we’re expecting water levels in town to drop between a metre and a metre and a half, starting Thursday, August 29.
If you’re on the water or using ferry services, plan accordingly for water levels to drop and potential interruptions.
The Site C Dam, near Fort St. John, was toured recently by staff of the town of Peace River.
BC Hydro has begun filling the reservoir, which will take until the end of the year.
Town staff says that water levels will be monitored, as the dam fills.
Once done and BC Hydro begin making power, water levels and flow rates in the river will be returning to normal.
