In NWJHL news, the Fairview Flyers have named a new head coach in Dolan Bjornson.
Originally from Hines Creek, Bjornson played for the Flyers between 2014 and 2016, and also won the NWJHL’s Rookie of the Year award in 2015.
After that, he played one season with the Grande Prairie Storm in the AJHL, and has spent the past few seasons playing with the Dawson Creek Canucks in the North Peace Hockey League.
Bjorson takes over a Flyers team that has struggled the past two seasons.
Fairview has finished in last place for two straight seasons, winning a combined six games during that time.
