- 33 year old Kyle Edward Daniel Ominayak is wanted on charges including forcible confinement, pointing a firearm, flight from police, theft, and assault with a weapon.
Officers say he’s a resident of Atikameg, but is known to frequent Little Buffalo and Cadotte Lake. - 21 year old Dominic Laboucan of Little Buffalo was last seen around 2:30 on Monday afternoon walking toward the bushes behind his home.
Peace Reginal RCMP are concerned for Dominic’s safety and well-being. - The Evacuation order has been lifted for the North Goodwin area in the MD of Greenview.
The Order was put in place on Saturday after the fire in that area jumped the Smoky River, north of Highway 43. Residents will be remaining on two-hour evacuation alert. - The Woodland Cree has established a protesters camp to oppose Obsidian Energy’s expansion plans and drilling operation.
Flags from Treaty 8, Duncan’s Loon River, Sucker Creek, Kapawe’no, Tall Cree, Bigstone, Lubicon Lake, Sturgeon Lake are flying at the protest site.

The 5 McDonalds restaurants in the Peace Region raised just over $51,000 for Ronald McDonald Childrens Charities.
While the 5 Tim’s Restaurants raised just over $92,000 for various charities around the area. - The North Peace Navigators of the NWJHL have signed Spirit Rievr’s Graden Vandeligt to play in Peace River next season.
Vandeligt has affiliated with the Navs for the past 3 seasons, playing seven regular season and five playoff games during that stretch. - The Wheatbelt Baseball League opens the 2024 season tonight in Peace River. The defending Champion Stampeders play Grimshaw, 7:15 at the Ski Hill.
