Our debt is down!
Council reviewed and accepted our 2023 Audited Financial Statements, and we’re proud to announce the Town of Peace River has reduced its net debt in the last two years from roughly $21 million to $12 million.
Leaner budgets and a goal for funded reserves are driving our financial progress, with a keen focus on maintaining and improving service levels. This progress is thanks to all of our staff working hard toward these goals.
We also thank our accounting staff who spent many long hours preparing year-end working papers in the lead-up to this audit, along with Metrix Group for the independent audit. Our work is not done yet, but we are proud to have taken these steps to improve our financial position.
