- Authorities are continuing with their investigation into the body of a man being found on the grounds of St. Andrew’s School in High Prairie.
Reports indicate early yesterday morning, the man was discovered by a staff member unconscious, and not breathing near the playground.
No names have been released, as police say the incident appears to be non-suspicious. - Surprise, surprise! No doctor in Fairview again.
This lack of coverage spans from 7am Friday, to 7am Saturday. - The Boil Water Advisory has been lifted for the Driftpile First Nation.
The advisory was in place for residents north and south of the Highway, and east of the Driftpile River. - The Alberta Fire Chiefs Association is urgently asking the province to disclose its wildfire preparedness strategy.
This comes after Alberta saw a record-breaking season in 2023, which 2.2-million hectares were burnt, mostly in the Peace and Mackenzie regions. - Thirty-six law professors, legal researchers and other staff from the U of A and the U of C are asking the province to reconsider policy changes affecting transgender youth.
Premier Danielle Smith said the fall sitting would bring new rules, including restrictions on youth changing their names or pronouns at school, as well as on hormone treatment and surgery for gender affirmation. - Albertans will have to wait until the fall before they learn what the federal government thinks they should get if the province quits the Canada Pension Plan.

The games run this weekend at various venues around the city. - Peace River’s Thea Thompson has been named the flag bearer for Team Alberta North for the opening ceremonies for the 2024 Arctic Winter Games in Mat-Su Borough, Alaska.
Thompson is competing in Women’s hockey during the games, which runs March 10-16. - NWJHL and NPHL continue with quarter-final action during the weekend, around the Peace Region.
NAHL, NJHL and AJHL also continue with regular season action. - Canadian Scotties Tournament of Hearts starts today in Calgary.
Selena Sturmay is representing Alberta after her win over Kayla Skrlik in the provincials a few weeks ago. Sturmay plays Kaitlyn Lawes of Manitoba, in her first draw. - A gorgeous long weekend is in store for Northwestern Alberta. Lots of sunshine is expected temperatures in the minus single digits.
