Drug Trafficking Investigation Lands Two In Custody

On Dec. 23, 2023, High Level RCMP conducted a roadside stop on a vehicle in the High Level area. The driver of the vehicle was a known offender who was out while under a court-ordered curfew. Search of the vehicle revealed that the passenger was in possession of a firearm. Furthermore, there was a satchel containing multiple scales, as well as baggies, 102g of cocaine and $3,020 in the vehicle.

As a result of the investigation, the driver, Corey James Beaulieu (25) was charged with multiple offences, including:

Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking;
6 firearm-related offences;
Possession of proceeds of crime; and
Failure to comply with release order (x6).

Also pursuant to the investigation, the passenger, Tyrel Henry Chalifoux-Wolfe (26), was charged with multiple offences, including:

Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking;
6 firearm-related offences;
Possession of proceeds of crime; and
Obstructing a police officer.

Beaulieu and Chalifoux-Wolfe were brought before a justice of the peace. Beaulieu was remanded into custody and is set to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in High Level on Jan. 2, 2024. Chalifoux-Wolfe was released with conditions and will appear at the same court on Jan. 15, 2024.
