They are now under a new name, puting together the Barley and Wheat commissions in Alberta.
Alberta Grains began operations August 1st creating one voice for the 18,000 wheat and barley farmers in the province.
The name-change was a six-year project with the implementing of a shared management structure, consulting with a farmer sub-committee and engaging wheat and barley farmers through formal consultations.
Those farmers voted in favour of amalgamating the commissions through two plebiscites, back in October.
