Canada Post Offering Free Mail Forwarding for many who are Displaced

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Free Mail Forwarding for customers affected by wildfires in Alberta areas

 

Effective Thursday, May 18, Canada Post is offering free Mail Forwarding service for up to 12 months to residents and businesses affected and displaced by the wildfires in the Atikameg, Drayton Valley, Evansburg, Fox Creek, Fox Lake, Grande Prairie, Rainbow Lake and Wildwood regions.

 

Residents with the postal codes or Forward Sortation Areas (FSAs) listed below are eligible for this offer:

  • Atikameg: T0G 0C0
  • Drayton Valley: T7A
  • Evansburg: T0E 0T0, T0E 0B3
  • Fox Creek: T0H 1P0, T0H 0A6
  • Fox Lake: T0H 1R0, T0H 0B9
  • Grande Prairie: T8W 5E3, T8W 5E4, T8W 5G5, T8W 5G7
  • Rainbow Lake: T0H 2Y0, T0H 0C9
  • Wildwood: T0E 2M0, T0E 0C3

 

To request the free service, affected customers will need to either:

  • Register at canadapost.ca/mailforwarding using a credit card to authenticate identity. No fee will be charged.
  • Go to a post office and bring government-issued photo ID (mandatory). Proof of authorization is required to request the free service on behalf of another person.

 

This free Mail Forwarding service will be available, by request, until June 17 and the service start date must be before June 17. After that date, standard Mail Forwarding fees will apply, and requests will be handled according to regular procedures.
