Prairie Echo & Salt Prairie on One-Hour Alert

A ONE-HOUR Evacuation Alert has been issued for residents in the Prairie Echo and Salt Prairie areas as a result of a Wildfire Big Lakes County, AB –Big Lakes County has updated the 4-hour evacuation alert to a ONE-HOUR evacuation ALERT due to a wildfire. This alert is in effect for Big Lakes County residents South and West of the Peavine Metis Settlement. Any residents south of Township Road 800, East of Range Road 200, West of Range Road 134, and North of Highway 679 are on a ONE(1) hour evacuation notice. A fire northwest of Peavine Metis Settlement is moving south. If you are in the following areas, you must prepare to evacuate. The areas involved are as follows: South and West of Peavine Metis Settlement. Any residents south of Township Road 800, East of Range Road 200, West of Range Road 134, and North of Highway 679.If you are in the affected area, residents must PREPARE to evacuate within 1HOUR NOTICE. Gather pets, important documents, medication, and enough food, water, and supplies for 7 days. Further instructions will be given to those directly impacted.
