It’s now easier than ever in Alberta for businesses to check validity of vaccine proof with the the free AB Covid Records Verifier app now available for Apple and Android devices.

Businesses and organizations using the Restrictions Exemption Program and need proof of vaccination against Covid-19 from patrons can now scan QR codes for instant validation for proof of vaccination.

The app is free and once a valid QR code is scanned a green check mark will appear with the persons name and date of birth, which businesses and organizations are to ask for another form of identification for adults 18 or older to match.

The app does not store any personal information and does not require an internet connection to operate once downloaded.

Albertans can access their enhanced vaccine record with a QR code by heading to alberta.ca/CovidRecords without creating an account.

Other forms of vaccination proof will be accepted up until November 15, including paper records from vaccine providers or a screenshot or a printed record of vaccination status from “MyHealthRecords” or alberta.ca/CovidRecords.

Creating or using a false vaccination record is an offence subject to prosecution and fines of up to $100,000 for a first-time offence.
