****RCMP RELEASE**** – Fort Vermillion, Alta.
On July 21, 2021, at approximately 7:00 a.m., Fort Vermilion RCMP responded to a report of a single vehicle rollover involving a tractor trailer unit on Highway 88, north of the Peace River Bridge.
Emergency medical services, Fire Services and Fort Vermilion RCMP attended the scene. The 36-year-old male driver and lone occupant of the tractor trailer unit from Edmonton was pronounced deceased at the scene. The name of the deceased will not be released.
Preliminary investigation revealed a semi-tractor was travelling northbound on Highway 88 in an erratic manner before crossing into the westbound lane and going off road, rolling over in the ditch.
Fort Vermilion RCMP are investigating this fatality.
No further updates are anticipated.
