It’s a big year for the Mackenzie Crossroads Museum & Visitor Centre.
The building is celebrating it’s 30th year in 2021.
The original plan was to open up for May Long Weekend, but due to current restrictions, they hope the season can begin in early June.
During this extra time before the doors open to the public, the staff is working on a new Wildlife in the North Display.
Something worth checking out if you’re in High Level this summer.
The Mackenzie Crossroads & Museum pride themselves in promoting the history and development of the area, from the 1900’s to present. They collect, preserve, and display artifacts from the region.
Recently their displays have included a look at the Chuckegg Creek Wildfire of 2019, and a feature of the Northern Trading Post. You’re guaranteed to learn something new about the region!
They’re also spending this extra time restocking the gift shop with an abundance of locally sourced items.
A great way to collect a piece of the region for yourself.
We all know how tough this year has been on everyone. Many are definitely feeling restless as we approach summer holidays.
In a year where plans could include hitting the highway and exploring, the visitor centre can help you plan many adventures around the area and beyond, with an array of local, regional, and provincial travel information.
Something to keep in mind when planning your next excursion.
And something special this year… to commemorate the 30th anniversary, the town of High Level is looking for new logo submissions.
If you have a redesign idea, you can send it to tourism@highlevel.ca
The deadline is June 18th.
The winner will be awarded a $500 gift certificate from a local business.
It’s a beautiful area we get to live in. Take in the culture, the history, and everything the North has to offer.
A safe way to enjoy the summer.
