On May 7th, Alberta Health Services confirmed 1,980 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of active cases in the province to 24,860.
659 people are currently in hospital due to COVID-19, with 150 in intensive care.
There are currently 3,616 active cases in The North Zone with 172 in Mackenzie County, 89 in the MD of Peace, 79 in Big Lakes County, 27 in the MD of Greenview, 18 in the MD of Fairview, 17 in Northern Sunrise County, 9 in the MD of Smoky River, 7 in the County of Northern Lights, 6 in the MD of Spirit River, while all other jurisdictions in our region have two or less active cases at this time.
