The Alberta Ombudsman office is looking to get themselves more well known around the province.
Diann Bowes from the Ombudsman office says they deal with complaints mainly about provincial and municipal governments.
“So the types of complaints that we’re looking at are complaints from workers about their workers compensation benefits. Income support recipients, how their benefits are decided. AISH recipients. We also accept complaints from inmates in provincial correction centres such as the Peace River Correctional Centre.”
Another office spokesperson, Daniel Johns, adds that having themselves known province wide is “always a struggle”and even if they can’t directly help with a complaint someone has, they are able to refer people to where they need to go.
People can get in touch with the office by calling 1-888-455-2756 or by going to ombudsman.ab.ca.
