$900,000 to Drone technology in Ag. Field (RJ Sigurdson)

It’s a jumpstart to technology in the Agriculture Industry.

The Provincial Government is earmarking $900,000 to the Agriculture Financial Services Corporation to hire drone services for aerial assessments of crops in the Peace and Mackenzie Regions.

The allotment to to help with damage appraisal, especially after the drought and wildfires during the 2023 season.

The Wildlife Damage Compensation Program is also part of this package to help with AFSC’s timely evaluation and subsequent coverage.

The government says the funds are a commitment to work alongside producers abnd agri-businesses to support a strong, sustainable, and diverse industry into the future.
