We reached out to Alberta Labour for more information, and they confirmed that the incident happened on Monday, October 16, 2017.

“It involves a company called PGA Crop Inputs,” said Alberta Labour spokesperson Trent Bancarz. “Two workers employed by them were building a chain-linked fence around the property. They were using a Compact Track loader to put gravel into the post-holes. It was when they were doing that, one worker was struck by the loader bucket, and sustained fatal injuries.”

Bancarz says that Occupational Health and Safety continues to investigate.

Peace Regional RCMP is also set to send out a press release later today about the incident. They also confirm the identity of the victim as 21-year-old Catlin Mossing.

A Celebration of Life for Mossing will be held at Grimshaw’s Legion Hall on Monday, October 23 at 2 PM.
