The North Peace Navigators will not be playing in this upcoming NWJHL season.
A statement from the teams board of directors says they are requesting a leave of absence for the 2026-27 season due to a lack of players.
The organization will continue to operate and will be rebuilding their player recruitment model so they can return to play for the 2027-28 season.
A changing landscape of junior hockey across North America and more teams competing for players in the area have been also cited by the board for this decision.
