The Town of Peace River has appointed Kayla Parsons as its new permanent Chief Administrative Officer.
The Peace Region local was selected following a search for the town’s next CAO. Her appointment was approved unanimously at a Special Council Meeting Monday, August 31st.
Mayor Shannon says Parsons brings home-grown leadership, along with experience and a deep understanding of the region.
Parsons has worked in municipal administration since 2015 and joined the Town of Peace River in 2022. She has served as Legislative Services Manager and, since April, has also been Interim CAO.
During that time, she supported the town’s emergency management response to river break-up and helped launch work with neighbouring municipalities on regional collaboration.
As CAO, Parsons will oversee town administration and help align operations with council’s strategic priorities, including economic development, financial management and regulatory compliance.
Council members say her communication skills, teamwork and commitment to Peace River make her the right choice to lead the community forward.
