Students are back in classrooms across the Holy Family Catholic Regional Division, and the school year brings new plans for faith, learning and school facilities.
The division has launched a new three-year Faith Plan, called We Are Called, beginning with a year focused on faith, followed by hope and love. This year’s focus includes the Creeds, the Liturgy of the Word, and the example of St. Padre Pio.
Academically, HFCRD is rolling out a new numeracy framework, expanded literacy resources, and new targets aimed at improving Grade 9 and diploma results. Indigenous Student Support Workers are also now in place at every school.
In Fairview, the St. Thomas More replacement project has moved into the design stage after the province approved funding.
The division continues to advocate for a new St. Andrew’s School in High Prairie, while modernization of Good Shepherd School in Peace River remains another capital priority.
Board Chair Kelly Whalen says the division’s focus remains on Catholic identity, student success and strong governance.
