Toy Story 5: It Will Tug On Your Heart Strings

uhrja2zdpraucqs5an2x3k

I am a person who believes the Toy Story franchise should’ve stopped at 3, despite how good the fourth one was and still feel that way after this one. That being said the movie itself is absolutely amazing and has a great take on the screen epidemic that it is going on right now.

Toy Story 5 shows how difficult things can be with making friends and how easy it is to get bullied online these days. It is done in such a way it will easily reach the children watching.

The film this time centres more around Jessie rather than Woody or even Buzz. If you remember the second film where we get introduced to Jessie and Bullseye, it is a sad story and the baggage Jessie carries from being abandoned by Emily (her kid). Safe to say it is still there in this film. There is a scene or two that will ripped at your heart strings and had some tears were heading down my cheek.

There is a sub plot involving an army of new hi-tech Buzz Lightyears that joins the main story and also ties up an massively unnoticed plot hole stemming from the second film.

The inclusion of Conan O’Brien as Smarty Pants, especially as he is a Harvard graduate, was a brilliant addition, while we don’t get much out of the usual toys. The one play scene we see the toy rock a very Conan hairstyle. It would’ve been nice to have more out of the old characters, but they were very limited.

Toy Story 5 is worthy of being part of the franchise, and with its box office success something tells me it will number 6 could be coming.

Final Grade: 9/10
