Authorities in northern Alberta have laid drug trafficking charges following a traffic stop near Whitecourt.
On April 30, the Western Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit, with help from RCMP, stopped a vehicle and arrested two occupants. A search uncovered roughly 269 grams of cocaine and 152 grams of methamphetamine.
Forty-four-year-old Christopher Doucette of Fox Creek and 33-year-old Jessica Hough of Whitecourt now each face two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. Hough is also charged with failing to comply with a court order.
Hough remains in custody and is set to appear May 11, while Doucette, released on conditions, is scheduled for court July 14 in Grande Prairie.
