
River conditions on Wednesday, April 22 evening on the Peace River are changing and the Town of Peace River is now in a high risk flood period.
Water levels on the Peace River are rising, which was expected to take place around this time as peak levels are anticipated to be reached within the next 24 hours.
The Heart River is starting to break up and Pats Creek is now flowing into the Peace River.
According to Alberta River Basins, the Smoky River ice jam has now reached the Peace River.
At this time, there is no immediate flood impact. However, residents are urged to take precautions as conditions can change very quickly.
