High Prairie RCMP are investigating a pair of shootings that happened last week that officers say are unrelated.
The first one happened just before 4 pm on March 31 near the High Prairie courthouse.
Officers arrived on scene and began their investigation while EMS transported the victim to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police have obtained some information and have identified some possible suspects, but haven’t made any arrests yet on that case.
Later that day just after 9 PM, RCMP were called to an attempted murder in Atikameg following a dispute at a residence.
One suspect shot at the victim, missing, then fled the scene in a pickup with three other individuals.
Police went in hot pursuit where the suspects threw objects, including fireworks, towards police vehicles.
Once the vehicle was finally stopped, four people fled the scene.
A shelter in place was issued for the Atikameg area and officers were able to arrest three of the suspects.
Lita Destiny Christian (31), a resident of Cadotte Lake, Paval Kozlov Laboucan (24) and Hannah Lacey Cardinal (30), both residents of Atikameg, were arrested.
One other person remains at large, Deshawn Laboucan (20), a resident of Little Buffalo.
