Alberta Justice confirms a stay of proceedings has been entered in a 2025 homicide case in Peace River.
Kelleo Alook had been facing charges including manslaughter, assault with a weapon, and multiple firearms-related offences in connection with the death of 35-year-old Anton Vincent Carifelle of McLennan.
RCMP say officers responded to reports of a shooting in downtown Peace River on August 12, 2025. The victim was found conscious at the scene and transported to hospital, but died the following day.
An autopsy later confirmed Carifelle died from a gunshot wound.
