Peace River RCMP say two local residents are facing multiple charges after a stolen vehicle was quickly recovered last week.

Police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle around 8:56 p.m. on March 26. Within 15 minutes, officers located the vehicle at Wilderness Park, where both the driver and passenger were arrested without incident. The vehicle has since been returned to its owner.

Forty-two-year-old Kenneth Noskiye and 35-year-old Cheyenne Furgeson, both of Peace River, are charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, driving while prohibited, and theft under $5,000.

Noskiye is also facing two additional counts of failing to comply with court orders.

Both accused were remanded into custody and are scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Peace River on March 30.
