At its March 24 meeting, Greenview Council adopted its 2026 Operating and Capital Budget. According to the release, “Greenview remains focused on maintaining a balanced budget. Council also remains committed to the continued development of critical infrastructure, the maintenance and enhancement of essential community programs and services, and the continued support of regional partnerships and collaborations.”
The municipality’s operating budget totals $227.9 million, including $98.5 million for general operations, $27.3 million for amortization, $35.5 million for capital and transfers to reserves, and $43.2 million in requisitions mandated by the province, such as education and seniors’ foundations. As part of that spending, $23.2 million has been allocated to municipal partners and non-profit organizations, supporting libraries, museums, community halls, and cemetery operations throughout Greenview.
On the capital side, council approved $40.1 million in new projects, alongside $68.2 million carried over from the previous year.
