The Values of farmland has risen, so says a new report from Farm Credit Canada.
The report suggests values have increased by 9% in the prairie provinces, with the Peace Region showing a modest increase of just under 9%.
That figure is below the provincial average of just over 11%, with an average price for an acre of land being around $3,400.
Despite the fluctuations in price and the uncertainty of the world markets right now, Farm Credit Canada is saying that it did not deter the interests of farmers in the land.
However, future affordability is in question, now that conditions have changed significantly in the world.
FCC says that this is good news for people currently owning land, but tough for people who are entering the sector.
