- The Peace River and District Chamber of Commerce is continuing their preparation for the Northern Connections Expo in May at the Baytex Energy Center.
Over 1,500 people attended last year, and today, less than 30 booths are still available to be part of the show. - The Provincial government announced it will bring forward legislation to streamline approvals for major projects that, if passed, will set a 4-month approval timeline.
The measure was included in an October mandate letter to Alberta Energy and Minerals Minister Brian Jean. - Seven Canadian teams are in action, as part of a 15-game NHL schedule tonight.
Edmonton is in Utah, LA’s in Calgary, Anaheim is in Vancouver, Las Vegas is in Winnipeg, Toronto is in Boston, Ottawa is in Detroit, and Carolina is in Montreal. - Major League Baseball starts this week, specifically on Wednesday with the Yankees at San Fransisco.
The Champion Dodgers open Thursday at home to Arizona. The Toronto Blue Jays open Friday at home to the Athletics. - Temperatures are still in the minus teens for the next couple of days in the Northwest.
Add to that, snow of 10-15cm in the Peace, and 15-20cm in the Big Lakes, that will fall, starting tonight.
