  1. The town of Falher is conducting business, like planning a Community Priorities Plan engagement event.
    Council has also secured $185,000 to support a project of neighboring communities to align long-term goals, improve efficiency, and explore shared services.
    The town of Falher is advocating for changes to the Alberta Police Funding Model.
    Council is also celebrating the progress being made on the Ball Diamonds, including work on the dugouts, bleachers and playing surface.
  2. The Boil Water Advisory in Eaglesham, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Water service has been restored and samples continue to be sent for testing.
  3. Officials with the MD of Smoky River are advising residents to monitor snow melting levels.
    Spring Runoff of the heavy snowpack, is beginning, therefore, officials are asking residents to keep and eye out for water build-up, like flooding, blocked sewers, and pooling.
  4. The Provincial Government is investing $34 million dollars into Indigenous Healthcare, pending the passing of the Budget.
  5. The Fairview post-secondary community meeting takes place tonight. It starts at 7PM at the Dunvegan Inn & Suites.
  6. Local High School Basketball issued hardware to local teams this past weekend at Provincials.
    Sexsmith won Bronze at the 2A Boys Championships in Peace River and Worsley won Gold at the 1A Championships in Breton.
  7. The Fairview Falcons took home gold at the U18 Female B Provincials.
    They defeated the Battle River Knights 3-0 in the championship game in front of a home crowd at the Fairplex Arena.
  8. The Manning Comets are the 2026 North Peace Hockey League Champions, completing a perfect 12-0 playoff, with a 5-0 win on Saturday night over Dawson Creek.
    It’s Manning’s first Campbell Cup since 1987 and their second overall.
  9. After their second NWJHL championship in three seasons, the La Crete Lumber Barons are getting ready for another appearance at the Alberta Junior B Provincials.
    Dion Knelsen, the head coach of the Barons, says they will leaning on the experience of some of their veteran players. (Interview in separate story)
  10. One game in the NHL tonight… Ottawa is at the Rangers.
  11. Snow will be happening off and on for the next few days in the Northwest, weith temperatures cooling off this week.
    Highs this afternoon are varied from -2 in the Big Lakes, to -9 in the Peace, to -15in the Mackenzie. The end of this week looks warmer, and brighter.
