  1. A Water Advisory is continuing in Teepee Creek, as crews will be cleaning water tanks today, in order to supply potable water.
    When water is restored, all businesses and residences in the Hamlet are to flush water lines for at least 20 minutes, prior to consumption.
  2. Most municipalities in the Northwest have exceeded their snow removal budgets for the winter season.
    Most, if not all budgets took a huge hit in December with continuous snowfall happened, basically throughout the month.
  3. AFSC has rewarded the women in Agriculture with their annual awards to nine individuals, including one from the Peace Region.
    Alexandra Brochu of Girouxville won the Community Builder Award for her work creating meaningful spaces where rural women can grow in confidence and community.
  4. More and more municipalities are continuing to advise residents against feeding the wildlife.
    In McLennan, warnings of not feeding the moose, who wander into town, have been posted.
  5. The NDP Opposition says the provincial budget is “making life more expensive” for rural Alberta.
    NDP MLA Heather Sweet says many rural municipalities will have difficulties in maintaining their infrastructure. (Interview in separate story)
  6. NPHL playoffs tonight… Game 7 – Spirit River is in Dawson Creek, the winner plays Manning in the League Final.
  7. AJHL tonight… The Grande Prairie Storm play in Devon.
  8. Five Canadian teams are in action, as part of a 13-game NHL schedule tonight.
    Edmonton is in Colorado, Calgary is at the Rangers, Anaheim is in Winnipeg, and Toronto is in Montreal.
  9. The Peace and Mackenzie looking at a chance for some flurries today, while it will be mainly sunny in the Big Lakes.
    The Big Lakes will also be the “warm spot” today with a high of -3, the Peace looking at -6, the Mackenzie -13.
    Temperatures will cool off the next couple of days and some more snowfall will also be happening as well.
