After a weekend of powerful Chinook winds, with gusts reaching up to 100 km in the Peace region and 110 km/h in the Big Lakes area, the weather has now settled back to seasonal norms.
These intense winds caused rapid melting and refreezing of snow, leading to slippery conditions on roads and sidewalks.
Residents are advised to exercise caution while traveling, as the freeze-thaw cycle has created hazardous surfaces.
