  1. A man from Big Lakes County has been apprehended on warrants stemming from an Auto Theft ring in the Red Deer area.
  2. A high-profile case in the Peace Region is continuing in the courts.
    The allegations against Sheryl Woods and Cheryl Bastien were brought forward last October when they were arrested by Valleyview RCMP.
  3. Wildfire season is underway in Alberta, with crews getting ready, and permits for burning now being needed. (Derek Forsythe Interview in separate story)
  4. The Peace River Library is pleased with the proceedings of 2025.
    At a recent Town Council meeting, the Library Board presented a year-in-review, highlighting steady growth in visitors, membership and programming.
  5. Springfield Elementary School in Peace River helped out the Food Bank in a unique way. The School lined up 511 full cereal boxes and knocked them down like dominos.
  6. NWJHL and NPHL have the night off tonight in the playoffs.
    Two of the remaining three series could be decided tomorrow night.
  7. Six games in the NHL tonight….
    Dallas is at Vancouver, Philidelphia is in Toronto, Detroit’s at Nashville, Columbus is at the Rangers, Carolina is in Seattle, and Colorado is at LA.
  8. Snow is expected in the Northwest until at least Wednesday, and it will need to be piled up again.
    In that timeframe, up to 25 cm in the Big Lakes, 20 cm in the Peace, but just a few centimetres in the Mackenzie.
    The North is dealing with cold temperatures right now, which also doesn’t make things pleasant. For now, the snow might stop on Thursday morning.
