  1. Extreme cold and snowfall warnings can be found across much of the province along with some winds bringing blowing snow and poor visibility on the roads.
  2. Grimshaw Town Council has received updates from various organizations, heading forward.
  3. The Fire Department now has a new Urban Interface Pumper Fire Truck, that replaces a 24-year-old unit.
  4. Families Matter week is this week in the Peace River School Division. (Jeff Thompson Interview in separate story)
  5. AFSC has announced the nominees for the 2026 women in Ag. Awards.
    Three people from the Peace Region are on that list including Alexandra Brochu and Joelle Benoit, both of Girouxville, Lorraine Polukoshko of Hines Creek, and Tasha Alexander of Brownvale.
  6. NPHL playoffs tonight… Games 5 – Valleyview is in Spirit River, and Falher is in Grande Prairie. The Rangers and the A’s are up 3-1.
  7. At the Olympics, Canada won Gold in the Women’s Team pursuit in speed skating.
    In Curling, the men are 5-1 and play Great Britain this afternoon, the women are 4-3 after an 8-6 win over Sweden this morning.
    In hockey, the men play Czechia in the quarter-finals tomorrow, the women play the USA for Gold on Thursday.
  8. Canada has a dozen medals in Italy. 3 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze, and sit 10th on the medal table.
  9. Snow and cold temperatures are hitting Northwestern Alberta for basically the rest of February. Warnings are in place, which means extra caution is needed is outside.
    The wind is stiff, making wind chills uncomfortable, however they will die down later in the day today. Bottom line is that the block heater chords are needed.
