Northland Online School has been awarded a $10,000 Teen Tech for Tomorrow Grant from Best Buy Canada, becoming of only 12 schools nationwide to receive this funding in 2025.
The grant aims to enhance technology access for students in Grades 8 to 12.
Superintendent Cal Johnson emphasized the grant’s significance in providing essential tools for online education, while Principal Mark Burke highlighted its role in enriching the student experience.
This initiative underscores the importance of partnerships in promoting equitable learning resources.
Since 2008, Best Buy Canada has donated over $4 million to more than 300 public schools, with the Teen Tech for Tomorrow program introduced in 2024 to further address technology access for Canadian students.
