Northwestern Polytechnic (NWP) and the Tallcree Tribal Government have announced a partnership to enhance post-secondary education access in northern Alberta.
Ten Tallcree community members have commenced NWP’s Educational Assistant program, combining remote and-person learning.
This initiative aims to equip students with skills in classroom management and instructional support, preparing them for careers in education.
Dr. Vanessa Sheane, NWP’s President CEO, emphasized the commitment to creating responsive and community-rooted learning pathways.
Chief Rupert Meneen highlighted the partnership’s role in fostering a community of lifelong learners, inspiring youth through lived education experiences.
This collaboration aligns with efforts to increase qualified Educational Assistants in local schools and reflects NWP’s broader strategy to attract and retain education professionals in the region.
