Basketball takes centre stage in Peace River this weekend as the Bob Plowman Invitational Basketball Tournament gets underway at the Glenmary School Gymnasium.
The two-day tournament runs Friday, January 17, and Saturday, January 18, bringing together 16 teams from across the region. A total of 8 girls teams and 8 boys teams are competing in a full weekend of high-energy basketball action.
The opening game tips off at 1 p.m. Friday, featuring the Glenmary Saints A Girls as they take on Grimshaw. Organizers say fans can expect fast-paced play, competitive matchups, and an energetic atmosphere throughout the tournament.
Spectators are encouraged to pack the stands, show their school spirit, and help create an exciting environment for the players.
Games will continue throughout the day Friday and all day Saturday, with championship matchups wrapping up the weekend starting at 4:15pm.
