At the November 27 Board Meeting, Assistant Superintendent Cheryl Gascoyne presented a draft version of the Peace River School Division’s Annual Education Results Report (AERR), offering trustees a detailed look at this year’s achievements and priorities.
Gascoyne reported several significant successes, including strong outcomes on the Alberta Education and Childcare Assurance Measures survey.
The Division received high levels of support from parents, teachers, and students in the areas of Student Learning Engagement, Citizenship, Education Quality, Parental Involvement, and Access to Supports and Services.
She noted that the Division not only performed well across all categories but also surpassed provincial response rates, reflecting strong participation from the school community.
Looking ahead, both Gascoyne and Superintendent Dr. Jeff Thompson identified student attendance as a key area for growth.
They stressed the need for continued focus on improving attendance rates while leveraging students’ positive perceptions of their schooling to further strengthen academic performance.
